Shatavari is known as the herb of a hundred husbands. It is hailed by Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine for its ability to inspire feelings of love and compassion when taken over time. It has been considered to primarily be a female reproductive tonic, because it is said to contain some phytoestrogens. Traditionally, it is thought that females can begin using it during puberty, and use it all the way through menopause. It can purportedly help restore an exhausted body, and assist with chronic fevers. It is also said to support the endocrine system, helping the body with mood, adrenal function, and thyroid function.
