Spicy, aromatic and sweet.  Astringent, diaphoretic, stimulant, carminative, antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, gastrointestinal tonic and hemostatic. 
Cinnamon has been a staple autumn spice for its soothing and warming taste. It is said to help with indigestion, flatulence, nausea, and vomiting. It has also been used as an antimicrobial. In the past, it was utilized to slow bleeding from a wound, and during a heavy menstrual flow. It is a common addition to sore throat formulas, because it is said to have throat coating properties. Cinnamon is thought to be a great stimulant to the entire system and has been used to invigorate a slow system and stimulate metabolism.
