Aromatic and bitter.  Antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial. 
Cedar has been used as an expectorant during colds and flus. It is said to have diuretic and diaphoretic qualities that have been utilized to break a fever. Cedar is thought to boost the immune system. It can stimulate the circulatory system for some people. The essential oils are commonly applied to warts.
Avoid using the essential oil internally.
